Tsavo East National Park (11,000sq, km), was established around the turn of the century when the Kenya – Uganda railway and Tsavo Bridge were built.

It was then that this territory was declared to be a National Park because of its abundance of wildlife.

Tsavo East National Park is well known for its population of ‘red’ elephant, Buffaloes, Zebras, Giraffes, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Ostrich, Impalas and Gazelles may be seen. Occasionally Lions and Cheetahs may be seen. Aquatic birds can also be seen at Aruba dam.

The park has attracted many birding ecologists from around the world as it serves the best place to watch them. Major attractions in this Kenya tour are the wildlife, and scenery which includes Swamps, Acacia forests, Grasslands and open Savanna.

The trip ends with a two-day stay in Diani and Mombasa, popular towns by the Indian ocean. There, you will experience the rich Swahili culture, have great food, shop and unwind at the beautiful beaches.

DAY 1 TSAVO EAST
Breakfast and then drive to Tsavo East National Park.

Dinner and overnight stay at Voi Safari lodge.
TSAVO FULL DAY
Breakfast and drive to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary where you to see game animals grazing in the cool of the morning and is the best time to look out for lions.

Lunch at a lodge located in the heart of the park with its own private game sanctuary and park (more than 50 species of wild game reside in the sanctuary)

The sanctuary has a special design for full viewing of animals. Get an elevated view due to stilts, walkways, a tunnel with a bunker and special windows for close up viewing of game at the floodlit waterhole.

Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp.
TSAVO-DIANI
Breakfast and check out.
Drive and proceed to South Coast.
Arrive in the afternoon.
You will be transferred to your hotel for the start of your beach vacation.
DIANI-MOMBASA
Breakfast and then check out.

Drive to Mombasa for the continuation of your vacation along the coast.

Arrive at your hotel, for freshening up.

Leave the hotel for a full day of touring the town.

OPTIONS; SIGHT SEEING/EXCURSIONS IN MOMBASA

Sightseeing includes a visit to Fort Jesus (the fortress built by the Portuguese in 1593). Today the fort houses the Mombasa museum.
A short walk through the old town with its narrow twisting alleys, overhanging balconies and carved doors brings you to the harbor. The harbor is still in use and one can find some Arab Dhows operating from it.

A short ride through the center of Mombasa takes you to other points of interest including the market and the huge elephant’s tusks (Metal board) along the Moi Avenue, which Mombasa is famous for.

Across the causeway, to Changamwe, you will visit the Akamba wood carving industry. This is a cooperative industry that consists of over 1,900 Members all producing great variety of woodcarvings all at very reasonable prices.

Visit the Nature Trail Sanctuary for wild animals where different species of birds and wild animals can be seen. Also found in this Man Made Eden are the giant Tortoise, Fish, snakes, Hippos, Buffaloes, Orlyx, Elands, Giraffes and other variety of wildlife.
