Top Kenya Safari Tours You Can Join

While the Join a Safari package is not limited to Kenya, here are some of our most popular Kenya Safari Tours that you can join.

Maasai Mara

The Maasai Mara is one of the most famous gameparks in the world. It is located in the south-west region of Kenya, and neighbours the Serengeti national park in Tanzania, making the region a budding ecosystem.

One of the most unique things about the Maasai Mara is that it is home to one of the morden wonders of the world, the Wildebeest migration. This migration usually occurs in the months of July to October each year, where like clock-work, thousands of Wildebeest move from Tanzania into Kenya through crossing the Mara river.

Other than the Widebeest migration, the Mara is also a beautiful landscape, and is home to the Big Five of Africa. It also hosts over 90 species of animals and over 500 species of birds.

The Masai Mara is also home to the Maasai people of Kenya, who have lived in the ecosystem for thousands of years. They too play a big role in conserving the wildlife as their culture promotes living with the land and its creatures, instead of destroying it. While on a Kenya Masai Mara tour, it is a great experience to visit the Masai villages and experience them and their daily life. They are a friendly and welcoming community that still upholds their tradition.

Things to Do in the Mara

Below are some of the things you can do when you join a tour to the Masai Mara

Safari Game Drive: Explore the beautiful landscape of the Masai Mara and spot big (and small) game within the sprawling ecosystem.

Experience a Hot Air Balloon Ride: Have a view of the Mara from above using hot air balloons which are run by companies that have been operational in the area since the 1960s

Visit the Masai: Check out a Masai village where you can interact with the community, learn about their ecperiences living so close to wildlife, check out and buy some of their famous beaded work, and more!

Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is a rift valley lake situated in the Great Rift Valley region in Kenya. It was formed when there was faulting in the east African region, leading to the rise of lakes traversing the great rift valley which runs from Ethiopia, through Kenya, to Uganda and a bit of Tanzania.

The beautiful lake is situated in Lake Nakuru National park, a protected area close to the city of Nakuru. This lake is famous for its saline nature, and mostly, for the huge population of Flamingoes that feed on algae growing in the lake.

Lake Nakuru National Park is also home to different species of animals including; zebra, buffaloes, and the endangered Rothschild giraffe. It is considered as an important ecosystem as it is one of the remaining homes for the Black Rhinos, who have almost been driven to extinction.

Like the Nairobi National Park, Lake Nakuru National park is close to a big city, Nakuru, which is a hub of business and pleasure. This makes it a convenient place to visit as it has the best of both worlds with all the modern amenities, and a taste of the African safari.

Things to Do at Lake Nakuru

Game Drives: Enjoy a game drive within the park with the beautiful views from different cliffs within the park.

Picnicking: Set up a picnic in designated places within the park where you can have breakfast, lunch or  an early dinner.

Camping: Enjoy the beautiful African night sky by camping at one of the designated campsites in the park.

Climb Mt.Longonot: Being that Lake Nakuru is close to Mt.Longonot, one of theactive mountains in the rift valley, you can take a day’s trip to the mountain for a guided hike with a beautiful view!

The Amboseli is known as the ‘Land of Giants’ because of being home to the largest and most famous elephants in the world. It is also home to other animals including the lion, leopard, hyena, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and even, wildebeests.

Amboseli is located in the South East of Kenya, neighboring the Kilimanjaro. In fact, the best view of the peaks of the Kilimanjaro is in the Amboseli, making it a great tourist attraction. The park also has different habitats including the savannah, woodlands and even, wetlands with sulphur springs, making it unique and all-encompassing experience since you can see different landscapes in one place. You can also see a dried-up Pleistocene Lake in the ecosystem.

While the Amboseli is home to many species of plants and animals, it is also home to the Masai! During your visit to the park, you can also visit a Masai village to experience the culture.
